In this lecture, we will be learning the detail design of a rectangular sedimentation tank or settling tank. settling or sedimentation tank is just a nice component of a modern system of water supply or wastewater treatment. A sedimentation tank allows suspended particles to settle out of water or wastewater as it flows slowly through the tank. also we will give a little touch to the classes of sedimentation tank. in the design calculation, we will give a solution to the following problem.

Design a rectangular sedimentation tank for a population of one lack of persons. Rate of water supply is 150 lit/no/day. Water will stay for 2 hours in tank (detention period)
