This house that we are featuring today is a split-level house. Sometimes this is also called 1.5 story house. A split-level home is a style of house in which the floor levels are staggered and separated by short stairs of 3-5 steps. One set of stairs may be running upward to the bedroom level while the other one going down to the basement area where storage or laundry area is located.
The first level in this house here is the garage area. The stairs go up to the main level where you can find the living room, dining and kitchen, and a common bathroom/toilet. Then another set of stairs is located on the main level going up to where the bedrooms are. In some designs, if the main level is spacious enough, a bedroom may be included.
